CZECH REPUBLIC Street Photography
2014 was my first foray into Eastern Europe since my old hitch-hiking days in the 60's. A quick history lesson reveals that the Czech Republic is the old Czechoslovakia without the Slovakia.
We drove from Dresden in Germany and headed straight for Prague. Less bicycles here than in Germany. Instead we found lots of young people pushing prams. From Prague to Pilsen and then on to the small historical centre of Cesky Krumlov in the deep south. Here it was cold and wet, as you can see from the pictures.
Leaving the rain behind, we drove east to Brno (I still don't know how to pronounce it) to explore the incredible cave complexes of Skalni Mlyn and Macocha Gorge. These images are for another website I've got planned, but the scenery here is really quite spectacular.
We found Czech Republic in general to be clean and modern, more developed and the young population more prosperous than we expected.
