This series was taken in the capital Kuala Lumpur and in Penang over a number of years, between September 2009 and June 2017. Penang is a small Island off the west coast, joined by a seven kilometer bridge to the mainland. It is considered by many to be the jewel in the crown of Malaysia, and is most famous for its food. The population consists of a healthy mix of Chinese, Tamil Indians and indigenous Malays. It is a moderate Islamic state, and the black burka covered women you see are most likely Saudi honeymooners.
